Medical device recalls or alerts are actions taken by the Local Responsible Persons under their obligations of listing to remove or correct listed medical devices (including modification of labelling) that present a risk of injury to patients, users or other persons.

The Local Responsible Persons shall, upon the issuance of recalls or alerts by the manufacturer, inform the Medical Device Control Office of the related details and actions to be taken in Hong Kong as soon as possible, but not later than 10 calendar days after their issuance.
